Safeguarding

Our commitment to the protection of minors and vulnerable adults.

The Diocese of Tandag is committed to making every parish, school and ministry a safe place for children, young people and vulnerable adults. In union with the Catholic Bishops’ Conference of the Philippines, we follow the Church’s norms for the protection of minors.

Our commitments

  • Every report of abuse is taken seriously, heard with respect and acted upon promptly.
  • Victims and their families receive pastoral care and support.
  • The diocese cooperates with the civil authorities and does not stand in the way of any report to them.
  • Clergy, religious, staff and volunteers who work with minors are screened and trained.

Reporting a concern

If you or someone you know has been harmed by anyone serving in the Church, please contact the Chancery at the Diocesan Pastoral Center, Mabua, Tandag City. You may also report directly to the police or the local social welfare office. If a child is in immediate danger, call the authorities first.
